We ask ourselves, "What makes St Simon's so distinctive? Why do people travel so far to attend our services? The high calibre of music? The attention to moving liturgy? The uplifting sermons? The warm welcome we offer?” All of these are important to us, but the most compelling reason we keep coming back is our sense of community. St Simon’s is a place where people soon realize that others look forward to seeing them each week, others enjoy their friendship, others take time to pray for one another.Some have come to share this sense of community through years of working shoulder to shoulder, caring for the neighbouring community.
Meals and shelter for the homeless, and music lessons for neighbourhood children, are just two of the ways that St Simon’s has enriched the life of the larger community, while strengthening the bonds of the church community that serves those around.
Our church community is strengthened in our central activity – our worship services. It is here that we are shaped as a Christian community; it is here that we explore our own personal spiritual experience with God; and it is here that we discover together how we can better fulfil God’s call to us to love everyone, without regarding culture, background or lifestyle.We invite you to join us.
